Backbone-thermoresponsive hyperbranched polyethers.
A new type of materials, the backbone-thermoresponsive hyperbranched polyether, was successfully synthesized by proton-transfer polymerization of 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether and various triols, and the lower critical solution temperature (LCST) values can be readily adjusted from 19.0 to 40.3 degrees C by changing the hydrophilic/hydrophobic balance of BDE and triols.
متن کاملGreen and Facile Synthesis of Highly Stable Gold Nanoparticles via Hyperbranched Polymer In-Situ Reduction and Their Application in Ag+ Detection and Separation
The development of a green and facile strategy for synthesizing high stable gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) is still highly challenging. Additionally, the main problems regarding AuNPs based colorimetric sensors are their poor selectivity and low sensitivity, as well their tendency to aggregate during their synthesis and sensing process. Herein, we present an in-situ reduction strategy to synthesize...
متن کاملPolymerization of Ethyl Acrylate Using Hyperbranched Polyglycerol with Multi-RAFT Groups as Chain Transfer Agent
Surfacing hydroxyl groups of hyperbranched polyglycerol (PG) were transformed into trithiocarbonates (TTC), an efficient multi radical addition-fragmentation transfer (RAFT) agent, to mediate the polymerization of ethyl acrylate (EA) under controllable conditions, and PG with multiarm PEAwas obtained. In this system, PG was a part of Z groups, and trithiolcarbonates were bonded directly to the ...
متن کاملMembrane Functionalization with Hyperbranched Polymers
Polymer membranes have been modified with hyperbranched polymers with the aim to generate a high density of hydrophilic functional groups at the membrane surface. For this purpose hyperbranched polymers containing amino, alcohol, and carboxylic acid end groups were used for membrane modification, respectively. Thus, surface potential and charges were changed significantly to result in attractiv...
متن کاملSupramolecular thermoresponsive hyperbranched polymers constructed from poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) containing one adamantyl and two β-cyclodextrin terminal moieties.
Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) oligomer containing one adamantyl (AD) and two β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) moieties at the chain terminals, AD-PNIPAM-(β-CD)(2), was synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and successive click reactions. In aqueous solution, AD-PNIPAM-(β-CD)(2) spontaneously forms supramolecular thermoresponsive hyperbranched polymers via molecular recognition ...
